SolVin was set up in 1999, when Solvay and BASF joined their competencies in the Vinyls sector, and started its operations in August. Solvay holds 75% and BASF 25% of SolVin.

SolVin is now the biggest integrated player from chlorine via EDC, VCM to PVC in Europe and globally via VDC to PVDC having operations in Belgium, France, Gemany, and Italy.

SolVin barrier polymers’ line consists of VDC copolymers available as waterborne dispersions, soluble grades, resins for coextrusion and ready-to-use premixes. Together these product lines represent the broadest range of PVDC polymers offered by any company in the world.
