A typical barrier packaging structure using IXAN® extrusion grades is LDPE / EVA / IXAN® / EVA / LDPE where EVA serves as the adhesive layer between LDPE and the PVDC layer. These barrier bags are widely used for meat and cheese packaging.
You will also find coextruded films with an IXAN® barrier layer in other applications such as medical film.
Extrusion grades must be blended with additives such as processing aids, heat stabilizers, plasticizers, and/or pigments. SolVin provides IXAN® premixes that are ready-to-use for its customers.
